Like most IT jobs, you should have a strong background in the sciences and especially math. You’re going to need more than a website. If you’re going to be working in the field, you will need to go to university/college or a continuing ed night school to get a degree or certificate like the MCSE.

I would also recommend Technical Writing also, a lot of Network Administration is documentation.
